Coronavirus outbreak has severely affected the entire nation. Right from people’s personal to professional lives, everything has gone for a toss. Naturally, our Hindi film industry too is reeling under the effects of this pandemic. Release of several big-budget films has been pushed. And the latest film to join this list is Kabir Khan’s upcoming directorial ’83. The sports-drama stars Ranveer Singh in lead.

Announcing the decision taken by the makers, Ranveer took to his social media handles and shared their statement. The actor wrote, “83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care.
We shall be back soon!”

Whereas the maker’s statement read, “In the wake of risk posed by the recent outbreak of COVID-19 and the growing health concerns, the release of 83 has been put on hold. We will take a decision regarding the next course of action once the conditions return to normal. We urge our fans to take all the necessary precautions and take care of their loved ones. 83 is a film about fighting the odds and we hope we all will bounce back from this soon. With love, team 83.(sic)”

’83’ was earlier scheduled to hit the silver screens on April 10.

‘Sooryavanshi’ is another big-budget film whose release has been put on hold.
