The early arrival of the monsoon season has led to a sharp rise in waterborne illnesses. Emraan Hashmi has tested positive for dengue while on the set of Pawan Kalyan’s film OG. The actor has been advised to rest at home, and filming has been temporarily halted.

Emraan Hashmi Tests Positive For Dengue On Pawan Kalyan’s OG Sets

According to a source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Emraan Hashmi was shooting for OG in Aarey Colony, Goregaon, Mumbai, when he contracted the illness. He was feeling unwell and exhibited dengue-like symptoms. Following medical advice, he underwent testing, which confirmed he has dengue.”

The source added, “He has been instructed to rest. Emraan, being a dedicated professional, promptly informed the makers about his condition and expressed regret over missing shooting days. They understood his situation and told him to prioritise his health.” Further, the source mentioned, “Emraan is currently resting at home. While there’s no definite timeline, he’s expected to be away from work for about a week. Once he recovers, he plans to resume shooting for OG.”

About Emraan’s Role In OG

This film marks Emraan Hashmi’s debut in Telugu cinema. It features Pawan Kalyan in the lead role and Priyanka Mohan as the female protagonist. Emraan plays the antagonist. OG is scheduled for release worldwide on September 25. The film is produced by DVV Entertainment, known for RRR (2022), and directed by Sujeeth, who previously directed Saaho (2019).

Emraan Hashmi was last seen in Ground Zero alongside Sai Tamhankar. He was seen portraying the role of BSF Commandant Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey.
