When the ‘Jai Ho’ star was asked about how he feels when his fans support him even after being surrounded by so many controversies, he said, “No, I don’t think like that. To me, it’s the performance of the last film that matters. That does the work. The whole cycle begins from there again. Once that chapter ends, another one begins.”

Talking about the controversial statements he had given, the 50-year-old actor said, “Should I give you something to survive for the next two weeks? If I don’t say anything, I am boring. See, I understand your responsibility towards your job. But if I say something, my people won’t like it. So you guys tell me what you want me to do.”

When further probed on how people are taking advantage of his silence, he said, “You reply, you don’t reply, people will still write what they want to. I may say something; it will be taken as something else. Phir ek statement ko ghuma firake kya hota hai, you also know. It’s sad.”

The National Commission for Women and Maharashtra State Commission for Women had sent notices to Salman to apologise for the statement. Well, the actor had responded via his legal counsel but is yet to apologize.
