Jiah Khan Case: CBI Raids residence of Sooraj Pancholi

The controversial Jiah Khan case has resurfaced once again. As The Central Bureau of Investigation recently raided the residences of Aditya Pancholi and his Sooraj Pancholi. Jiah Khan was found dead at her residence in Mysterious circumstances in 2013.

Jiah Khan’s relationship with Sooraj Pancholi was said to be under strain and it was suspected that it drove her to end her life. The Juhu police had booked Sooraj on charge of abetting the suicide but later reelased on bail.and now a charge-sheet has also been filed against him.

The Bombay High Court, on plea by Jiah Khan’s mother Rabia, had directed the CBI to probe whether the death was suicide or homicide. Officials of the Delhi CBI units were in Mumbai for the operation. CBI’s two teams began their search at the residence of Sooraj and his father Aditya Pancholi, the search continued for many hours. The team has recovered “incriminating documents”.

Sources say, “We have seized certain incriminating documents and articles during the searches and these would be scrutinized by CBI teams that are investigating the case.”

Bombay HC bench of Justice VM Kanade and Justice PD Kode thought it was necessary to engage the CBI for further investigation to probe the aspects left out, if any, by the local police. The judges were of the opinion that the Juhu police had not investigated the angle of possible murder properly.
