Kajol unveiled the trailer of her debut web series in the city on Monday. The Trial is an adaptation of the American drama, The Good Wife. It sees Kajol play the role of a lawyer who is cheated by her husband. But when her husband is in need of legal help, she has to step up. How she deals with love and deceit while also managing her job in a tough and judgemental office environment makes for a gripping drama.

This show marks Kajol’s first stint on the digital medium. When the actress had announced the project, it was initially titled ‘The Good Wife’. It went through a title change but the drama will have you all in from the word go.
The prowess of Kajol as an actress is beyond doubt and she brings that excellence here as well. Playing a junior lawyer, Noyonika Sen Gupta, her eyes do most of the talking. While she is juggling raising her daughters and being deceived by her husband, she is also facing judgements at her work place. The actress seems in full form in the show.
Along with Kajol, Jisshu Sengupta, Sheeba Chadha, Kubbra Sait also star in the show. Jisshu as the husband brings his expertise on screen. Sheeba has really experimented with her role in the recent years and this one adds to it. The series is directed by Suparn S Verma and will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from July 14, 2023.
Kajol upcoming movies
The actress was last seen on the big screen in December 2022. She starred in the emotional drama Salaam Venky with Vishal Jethwa. Now, just a few weeks before the release of The Good Wife, Kajol will also be seen in the anthology Lust Stories 2. Post that, she is reportedly a part of a Dharma Productions’ film with Prithviraj Sukumaran. Allegedly, the film will mark the Bollywood debut of Ibrahim Ali Khan.
