Republic TV Editor-In-Cheif Arnab Goswami was arrested by Mumbai police from his house in connection to abetment to suicide case that was registered in 2018. Now coming out in support of Arnab is none other than actress Kangana Ranaut, who took to her social media handle to react to his arrest.

Kangana shared a video message on her Twitter handle alongside the caption, Message for Maharashtra government @republic#Arnab #ArnabWeAreWithYou #ArnabGoswami(sic).”

In the video, she is heard saying, “I want to ask the Maharashtra government that today, you went inside Arnab Goswami’s house, beat him, pulled him by his hair, assaulted him. How many houses will you break? How many throats will you choke, how many people’s hair will your pull and how many voices will you silence? Sonia Sena, how many mouths will you gag? These voices will keep growing. Before us, so many martyrs’ throats were slit, they were hanged for their right to free speech. No matter, you will silence, many others will rise.”

She further tweeted, “Pappupro ko gussa kyun aata hai? Penguins ko gussa kyun aata hai? Sonia sena ko itna gussa kyun aata hai?Arnab sir let them pull your hair and assault you for the cause of free speech greats before us got hanged with smiles on their faces, Aazadi ka karz chukana hai #ArnabGoswami(sic).”

Arnab Goswami was arrested by Mumbai police in connection to 2018 case in which an architect Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud Naik died by suicide over alleged non-payment of dues by Goswami’s Republic TV. The case was filed in Raigad.  According to a report in Zee News, CIU Inspector Sachin Vaje said that Arnab has been arrested under Section 306 and Section 34 of IPC.
