Pratibha Ranta Is Replacing Sharvari In MHCU’s Maha Munjya? Director Aditya Sarpotdar Clears The Air

Director Aditya Sarpotdar has clarified that Pratibha Ranta will not replace Sharvari in Maha Munjya, confirming the latter remains a key part of the MHCU franchise. The Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is a popular and beloved series, with casting rumours frequently capturing fans’ attention. Recently, reports claimed that Pratibha Ranta would take over Sharvari’s role in Maha Munjya.

Pratibha Ranta To Replace Sharvari In Maha Munjya

In an interview with News18 Showsha, Aditya Sarpotdar dismissed these rumours, stating, “Sharvari is an essential part of the Munjya team.” When asked if Pratibha Ranta is involved in any MHCU projects, he responded, “I don’t know where this story about Pratibha came from. It’s just another rumour because she definitely isn’t part of it.”

He further explained, “The core team of Munjya, including Sharvari and Abhay Verma, are already working on the next film. I read an article claiming Pratibha replaced Sharvari in Munjya 2, but that’s not possible. Sharvari is a vital part of the Munjya family. As for new actors joining later, we will announce that at the right time.”

Munjya, the fourth instalment of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, was a major hit at the box office. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film features Abhay Verma, Mona Singh, Sharvari, and S. Sathyaraj. It explores the legend of Munjya, inspired by Indian folklore and mythology. According to screenwriter Niren Bhatt, Munjya is portrayed as a creature that is both monstrous and innocent due to dying young. Munjya tends to trouble people to fulfil its desires. It’s often fixating on marriage and has a peculiar habit of throwing stones at those standing under trees. Despite its mischievous nature, Munjya is considered harmless compared to other spirits.
