10 years back, what happened with Tanushree Dutta is something the entire country is condemning. Tanushree was a starlet at that time and the incidents that happened with her made her leave this country. After a decade, Tanushree made it public as to what had happened to her then. In 2008, on the sets of ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’, Tanushree was sexually assaulted when she refused to do an intimate dance number with Nana Patekar. She said that Nana even had sent goons to attack her when she was inside her vanity van. After opening up on what she had gone through, many B-town celebs backed her and voiced their opinions in support of the actress. Now, Malaika has joined the bandwagon.

In an interview with DNA, Malaika said that Tanushree should be applauded for sharing her story. She told,
“Tanushree’s case. What makes me sad is that people, and even the media, have been highly irresponsible as far as this incident is concerned. These are times where you should have a united front. I didn’t like the fact that many of them were questioning her about why she spoke 10 years later. How does it matter whether she spoke then or now? The fact that she’s speaking up should be respected.”

“Obviously, it’s something that she’s dealt with a lot, over a period of time. That upset me the most. We should appreciate and applaud the fact that somebody’s finally sharing their story,” added the actress.

A couple of days back, Tanushree received a legal notice from Nana Patekar and yesterday, she filed a police complaint against Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya. Nana and Ganesh will be holding a press conference on October 8.
