Taking to his Facebook handle, Shah wrote a note defending Diljit Dosanjh. In his post, he stated, “I STAND FIRMLY WITH DILJIT.” He explained, “He was not responsible for the casting of the film; the director was. But no one knows who he is, whereas Diljit is known the world over. And he agreed to the cast because his mind is not poisoned.”

In the same message, Shah mentioned his connections. He stated, “I have a couple of close relatives and friends in Pakistan. And no one can stop me from meeting them.” He added, “What these goons want is to put an end to personal interaction between the people of India and Pakistan. I have close relatives and some dear friends there. And no one can stop me from meeting them or sending them love whenever I feel like it. And my response to those who will say ‘Go to Pakistan’ is ‘GO TO KAILASA.'”

Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy

Diljit Dosanjh has come under heavy criticism for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in Sardaar Ji 3, especially in the context of increased tensions between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam attack. Previously, Diljit’s director for Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali, also expressed his support for him at the NDTV Creators’ Manch. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) reaffirmed its ban on Pakistani artistes working in India. As a result, the release of Fawad Khan’s film Abir Gulaal was halted in May.
