Amidst all the praises and accolades, it was yesterday that a hard-hitting opinion on Sanjay Leela Bhansal’s magnum-opus ‘Padmaavat’ grabbed the eyeballs. Actress Swara Bhasker shared her thoughts over the film and even though she praised all the stars and their performances, she honestly accepted that she felt like a ‘vagina’ by the end of the film. She made some stark statements and how she felt like watching the film.
I loved the performances by all the actors in #Padmaavat – The film is seductive in its grandeur, scale, beauty, power of its actors’s performances, music, design, vision… and therein lies the problem! Some thoughts.. sorry abt the length ???https://t.co/0hYnvlAvAD

This did not go down well with some who later bashed her for having such thoughts. Some questioned the kind of roles she does in her films, namely that of a prostitute and a dancer, while some had a problem with her using the word ‘vagina’ in her blog/review. But let us tell you that the actress who did not shy away from sharing her thoughts of the film despite her thoughts being different from the rest, had a bang on answer for all. Funny that people cannot get over the fact that a woman said Vagina! Funny that in a 2440 word article making fairly comprehensible arguments they only remember the word Vagina!!! ? So… Vagina vagina vagina vagina vagina vagina……………vagina vagina VAGINA!!!!! https://t.co/pVh7rskZHL

Totally your choice Sonal.. saying or not saying the word vagina has nothing to do with being a feminist.. but in a 2440 word article about a film- that ur only recall is the use of the word vagina.. may have something to do with.. i wonder what? 🙂 🙂 🙂 https://t.co/vukMMxds40

Priyanka read the article again.. what part of it ‘belittles’ women. And no there is no jealousy.. tell me every time you think a thought, or have an opinion; is it because you are jealous???? That’s an unfortunate and emotionally draining existence. My sympathies ?? https://t.co/TQofAnAdqM

Well, there were some who also appreciated her thoughts.
My respect for @ReallySwara has reached new levels https://t.co/dtxSw8i53m

A strongly opinionated, free-spirited, budding Bollywood journalist, she likes to write anything in her own quirky style. When not running around to get assigned tasks completed, you will find her either painting, indulging in photography or dreaming in the la la land.
