On October 25, superstar Rajinikanth was conferred with the 51st Dadasaheb Phalke Award. He received the prestigious award at the 67th edition of the National Film Awards from Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu for his contribution to Indian cinema. On Wednesday, Rajinikanth shared a few pics on his Twitter handle from his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind. His wife Latha also accompanied him.

Sharing the pics, Rajinikanth wrote in Tamil that is translated to English as, “I am happy that I met the President and the Prime Minister and received their congratulatory messages”.

At the award ceremony held in Delhi, the Annaatthe actor was accompanied by wife Latha, daughter Aishwarya and son-in-law Dhanush. Dhanush received the Best Actor award for his work in Asuran.

Rajinikanth, during his media interaction at Poes Garden house in Chennai, reacted to his Dadasaheb Phalke win. He said, “I’m very happy that I won the Dadasaheb Phalke award. I never expected that I’d get the award. I’m sad that KB sir (K Balachander) is not alive when I get this award.” Rajinikanth made his acting debut with late director K Balachander’s Apoorva Ragangal in 1975.

On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in Annaatthe, that is all set to release on November 4. The trailer will be unveiled today.
