Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has officially started filming for his upcoming movie Battle of Galwan in the stunning landscapes of Ladakh. A behind-the-scenes photo from the set is now going viral on social media, creating a buzz among fans.

The film is being directed by Apoorva Lakhia and is based on the real-life events of the Galwan Valley clash between India and China. Salman is reportedly playing the role of Colonel B Santosh Babu, the brave Indian Army officer who sacrificed his life during the 2020 conflict.

Director Apoorva Lakhia took to Instagram and shared the glimpse of the shoot. He shared the glimpse of Salman’s announcement poster. Though his full look hasn’t been revealed yet, the poster shared hints at a serious transformation for the role. Fans are already praising his dedication to portraying such a significant figure.

Initially, the first schedule of the film was planned to be shot in Mumbai. However, the makers decided to scrap the set and move the shoot to Ladakh for authenticity. A source told Mid-Day that director Apoorva Lakhia wanted the scenes to be shot in sequence and felt that real locations would add depth to the story. The Mumbai shoot is now postponed indefinitely, though some patchwork or songs may be filmed later.

Battle of Galwan also stars Chitrangada Singh as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Ankur Bhatia, Zeyn Shaw, and others. The film is expected to be an emotional and action-packed tribute to the heroes of Galwan Valley.
