Sanjay Leela Bhansali to bring Shah Rukh Khan on board for Inshallah: Reports

Sanjay Leela Bhansali is one of the most celebrated directors of Indian Cinema. Over the years, he has directed hits like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Black, Bajirao Mastani, Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram –Leela, Gangubai Kathiawadi and others. According to the latest report, Sanjay Leela Bhansali will kick off his next directorial in May this year.

Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “Much like all his films, this one too is a very ambitious story close to his heart and will be talk of the town once the official announcement is made. SLB is targeting to take the film on floors in May/June 24, and its work in progress on the pre-production front.”

Shah Rukh Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali to reunite?

Although the filmmaker is exploring multiple ideas and considering various casting options, there are reports that Inshallah might be his next cinematic endeavour. Reportedly, Shah Rukh Khan has shown interest in Inshallah. The source revealed, “Inshallah is a step in a new direction for Sanjay Leela Bhansali in today’s time and even he is in the mindset to explore a rather light-hearted romantic comedy, stepping back from the intense period dramas. SLB has met SRK a couple of times over the last few months. It’s a story and character which suits Shah Rukh Khan’s personality and he is in conversations to get him on board.”

The report also claimed that SLB is currently discussing a script with Ranveer Singh.

Talking about Baiju Bawra, Pinkvilla quoted a source saying, “Baiju Bawra is a passion project for Sanjay Leela Bhansali and he definitely wants to make it in the near future. He is just undecided if he would take it on floors now, or at a later date.”

On the other hand, SLB is currently busy with the post-production of Netflix’s Heeramandi which stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Sehgal, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Aditi Rao Hydari.
