Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently landed himself amidst huge controversy after expressing his worry over incidents of growing religious and political intolerance in the country. Khan, being the brand face of Indian Tourism, was widely criticised for making remarks which might harm India’s image on the global platform. His contract with Indian Tourism was on a verge to end and the Government showed no interest to renew it. It is being assumed that none but the controversy got the ministry reluctant to proceed further with Aamir as the mascot of ‘Incredible India’.

Reportedly, the Ministry had short-listed Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone & Priyanka Chopra; amongst all of them, Bachchan stands the Ministry’s first choice. However, Bachchan was quote stating that “nobody has asked” him about it yet and that he “would be more than willing” to accept the offer. When asked what was his reaction on Aamir Khan being removed as ‘Incredible India’s official face, Big B firmly stated that there was a difference between Khan being removed and Khan’s contract being over, and in this case, it was the latter one.
