‘Satyameva Jayate’ Box Office: John Abraham-Manoj Bajpayee’s film to cross the Rs 50 cr mark
With each passing day, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ has been taking us by surprise with its box office. After becoming the highest opener for John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee, the lead actors of the film, the film has been going steady at the box office. Day 2 may have witness a dip in the collection, the film picked up again on day 3.
‘Satyameva Jayate’, which released on August 15, Independence Day, holds strong on Saturday, day 4 too. The film minted Rs 9.03 crore approx, taking the total to Rs 46.65 crore approx.
Below is the day-wise collection of the film at the box office:
Wednesday – Rs 20.5o crores
Thursday – Rs 7.92 crores
Friday – Rs 9.18 crores
Saturday- Rs 9.03 crores
TOTAL – Rs 46.65 crores
Besides ‘Satyameva Jayate’, ‘Gold’ starring Akshay Kumar in the lead had also released on the same day.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, a source close to film’s producers, talking about Satyameva Jayate’s box office performance on Independence Day, had said, “The film opened at Rs 19.75 crore despite having the heavyweight Gold releasing simultaneously. As was expected, Gold got the gentry (or the multiplex audience in big metros) while John’s film got a mix of some multiplexes and many single screens across India.”
‘Satyameva Jayate’ is written and directed by Milap Milan Zaveri. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Nikkhil Advani (Emmay Entertainment), Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani, the film also starred Amruta Khanvilkar, Aisha Sharma and others.
