Shraddha Kapoor: I just wish I met Haseena Parkar

Shraddha Kapoor Haseena Parkar meet

Shraddha Kapoor will next be seen in ‘Haseena Parkar’ which is all set to hit the screens on September 22, 2017. The movie is directed by Apoorva Lakhia and also stars her brother Siddhanth Kapoor in a pivotal role.

This is the first time when Shraddha will be seen in a biopic and when we recently met her we asked if getting into the character of Haseena Parkar was difficult as she couldn’t meet her (Haseena Parkar died in 2014) and as there are not much pictures and videos of her as well. To which the actress replied by saying, “You know my director Apoo (Apoorva Lakhia) was so involved in the research of this film. He has spent about two to two and half years just doing his research and spending time with Haseena. So, he was so well equipped himself which just made it give us all the material that helped us to do our jobs to the best of our abilities. When he met he told me I have met her (Haseena) so many times, this is what I know about her and I was just like wow here we have a director who has already done his homework. So, I was very excited by him and how involved he was to begin with.”

“Firstly like we spent time just listening to him that how he spent time with Haseena, the stories about her, then we spent time with her family to understand how she was as a person. I just wish I met her that could have been different, but she passed away, and unfortunately I couldn’t meet her,” she added.

She was even asked if the real Haseena, who expired in the year 2014, had any inkling that the actress would be playing her in a movie based on her life. Shraddha replied to the same by saying, “I don’t know that.” (Also Read: Shraddha on meeting Saina Nehwal: I was in complete awe)

Akshay Kumar speaks up about his film ‘Gold’ clashing with Kangana’s ‘Manikarnika’

Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘PadMan’ was earlier slated to release on January 25, 2018. It was going to clash with ‘Padmaavat’, but to give a solo release to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial, Akki decided to postpone his film.

Well, ‘PadMan’ got a solo release too on February 9, 2018. While the film has done a good business, there were more expectations from it.

Akshay’s next release will be ‘Gold’ which will be hitting the screens on August 15, 2018. However, it looks like the movie won’t be getting a solo release. Reportedly, the makers of Kangana Ranaut-starrer ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ are also planning to release the film on Independence Day.

Recently, when Akshay was asked about his movie clashing with Kangana’s film, the actor said, “I don’t believe in the word ‘clash’. There are going to be two-three movies coming together because there are 180 films and there are 52 weeks. You have to come together.”

When he was asked that in 90s there were four-five films coming together, but now even if just two films are releasing on the same day, it becomes a big deal, to which the actor said, “Earlier when business used to happen it used to continue for silver jubilee and golden jubilee, but now it is just four days of business, so that is why everybody wants to catch that three-four days.”

Well, we quite agree with what Akshay said. Now let’s wait and watch whether it will be Akshay vs Kangana at the box office or one of them will change their release date. (Also Read: PadMan: Men in some places aren’t allowing their wives to watch the film, says Akshay Kumar)

With the film having undergone a number of delays already, Akshay was recently asked if it is likely to be pushed again.

“I don’t know. That’s one movie I don’t know about,” he said.

We quite don’t know why is it so, though!

Akshay also has ‘Kesri’ in his kitty and is likely to appear in ‘Moghul’ as well, a film that narrates the story of unnatural death of T-Series founder Gulshan Kumar.
