Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s The Bengal Files is all set to release theatrically this Friday, September 5. With just days left until the political drama – focused on the 1946 Great Calcutta Killings and the Noakhali riots releases, the film’s cast and crew are busy promoting the film across platform. Bollywood Bubble recently interacted with the film’s producers, Abhishek Agarwal, over a call and spoke to him about several controversies attached to he film.
During the exclusive telephonic chat, the producer reacted to some Bengalis not being keen on watching TBF in theatres. Read on to know snippets of what he said.
Abhishek Agarwal Reacts To Bengalis Not Wanting To Watch The Bengal Files In Theatres
Reacting to some Bengalis not being keen on watching the film in theatres as they feel it’s not true/showcases a biased narrative and others wanting to see it to know what The Bengal Files is actually includes, Abhishek Agarwal said in Hindi, “If someone does not want to watch, the least we can do is request them to watch it and tell them that what we are showing it simply the truth. We can show them the research we have done. The names may be a bit different but the story we are telling recounts everything that happened there. Every Hindu, every Bengali should watch and know what happened there.”
He added, “The young generation should know what happened in the past and what is happening here right now. So we can only request them (to go and watch the film) because we have shown the truth.”

The political drama is produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and presented by Tej Narayan Agarwal & I Am Buddha Productions. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, and Darshan Kumar alongside Simrat Kaur, Saswata Chatterjee, Namashi Chakraborty, Rajesh Khera, Puneet Issar, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Sourav Das and Mohan Kapur.
The film is part of Vivek’s Files trilogy, which includes The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files. It will release in theatres worldwide on September 5, 2025.
