Anjali Anand BREAKS SILENCE On Whether ‘TV Actor’ Tag Affected Her In Bollywood

The debate around television actors transitioning to Bollywood has existed for years, with many believing that TV stars often face typecasting or industry bias. However, Anjali Anand has a refreshingly different perspective. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, she believes that labels only matter if an actor chooses to carry them. In an exclusive conversation, Anjali opened up about whether the “TV actor” tag has ever affected her career in Bollywood. She shared that she doesn’t believe in differentiating between mediums and sees herself simply as an actor, regardless of the platform she works on. Anjali Anand REACTS To TV Actor Tag In Bollywood

When asked if she has ever been affected by a TV actor tag in Bollywood, Anjali Anand said, “Depends on person to person. If you think of yourself as, “Main TV actor hoon, main film actor hoon,” agar aap khud hi apne aap mein differentiate karenge, tabhi log bhi aapko differentiate karenge. I think in mein se kisi ko pata bhi nahi hai ki maine television mein kaam kiya hai.”

She added, “Unko farq nahi padta ki aapne kahaan kaam kiya hai. Agar aap apne saath woh baggage leke aaoge, tabhi unko woh cheez pata chalegi. Agar aap woh baggage leke nahi chalte ho apni life mein, toh kisi ko kuch pata nahi chalega. Main ek actor hoon. TV mein bhi main waise hi kaam karungi, film mein bhi waise hi kaam karungi, OTT mein bhi waise hi kaam karungi. Main sirf ek actor hoon.”

The ongoing debate highlights the challenging transition faced by Indian television actors moving into Bollywood. Insiders and actors contend that TV stars often encounter issues such as typecasting, industry bias, and elitism. It hinders their opportunities in mainstream cinema. Despite demonstrating versatility and garnering massive, organic fan bases through their television work, many are still perceived as “inappropriate” for big-budget films. This perception creates a significant barrier, making it difficult for talented TV actors to break into the Bollywood film industry. They are appreciated for their full potential on the big screen.
