EXCLUSIVE: Meezaan Jafri Defends Age-Gap Romantic Films Like De De Pyaar De 2; Says, “It’s A Delicate Subject In Our Culture”

Bollywood’s growing interest in age-gap love stories has sparked fresh debate, especially with films like De De Pyaar De 2 returning to the spotlight, and Meezaan Jafri shares his views. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Jafri praised the sensitive and balanced approach taken by the makers. He highlighted that age-gap relationships are more common than people assume. Meezaan Jafri On Age-Gap Romantic Films

When asked his view on Bollywood making age-gap romantic films like De De Pyaar De 2, Meezaan Jafri said, “I think it’s lovely. I think bahut hi acche tareeke se handle kiya gaya hai. You know, it can go wrong… It’s a very delicate subject, especially in a country like India, in our culture. Iss topic ko itni khoobsurti se Luv sir, Anshul sir aur Tarun sir ne jis tareeke se likha hai, it should not be offensive to anyone, it should be handled with care, and that’s what this film does. They’ve spoken about it beautifully. Aise kai log hain jinko main jaanta hoon jinke ek older boyfriend ho, ya older girlfriend ho, ya wife ho. Even my parents have a 6–7 year age gap, so aise kai parents mein 10–15 saal ka gap bhi hota hai.”

Speaking of it’s still weird, Meezaan said, “Weird aapko 30 years ke pehle lagta hai. Uske baad, when you grow up, jab aap khud shaadi ki umar mein aate ho, you accept that fact.”
