Rishabh Sawhney reveals how Fighter and Pathaan have a connection

Recalling the moment SRK praised him for his act, Rishabh Sawhney gushed, “More than validation or anything I was so psyched that Shah Rukh Khan has seen me and he knows my name because he is like an idol for me. I would love to someday work with him.”

Sharing an interesting trivia, the actor revealed, “When I was doing the costume trials for my character, the styling team showed me like three or four pair of shoes for the film. And they told me that one of the shoes was the shoes that Shah Rukh Khan wore in Pathaan. Later I told them to take the other options away and give me that pair. I said my team, ‘I’m only going to shoot in these shoes.’ So I literally shot in those shoes throughout the film. I idolize that man for what he has achieved. It has given millions of people hopes to come in the industry and work. All I can say is that he is the ultimate inspiration for an outsider out there.”

On working with Hrithik Roshan

Talking about his experience of working with Hrithik Roshan, Rishabh averred, “He is a great co-star to work with. I was honestly very nervous because I did not want him to get injured and he noticed that. Later, very sweetly he told me, ‘Listen, you don’t have to worry about anything. In this scene, you are punching me. It’s your job to punch. And it’s my job to make sure I don’t get hit. I will do my part really nicely. You do yours.’ This thing gave me immense confidence and then we effortlessly performed the hand-to-hand combat scenes.”

Working with him I realized the bigger the star, the easier they make it for their co-actors to perform. Hrithik and Siddharth Anand made the set environment so friendly and homely that it didn’t feel like I am shooting around such seasoned and known actors”, said Rishabh.

Fighter is directed by Siddharth Anand and also stars Deepika Padukone, Karan Singh Grover and Akshay Oberoi.
