Sooraj Pancholi Recalls His Family’s Hidden Trauma During Court Case
When asked about how different his parents, Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab are, Sooraj Pancholi said, “I would say they are two completely different individuals. It’s exactly what I’d describe as Beauty and the Beast — although, to be fair, he’s a very good-looking beast. A very handsome man, I’ll give him that. Now, when I see old videos of him, I think, ‘Damn, I’m nowhere close to what he used to look like.’ He was really good-looking back in the day. But I think I have my mother’s eyes — that gentleness, I believe, comes from her. I always say I have the best of both: my father’s heart and my mother’s brain. So yeah, I think I got the best of both worlds.”
Sooraj Recalls His Family Trauma During Court Case
Speaking of his family trauma during the 12-year-long court case, Sooraj shared, “See, I had my family — 24 hours, they supported me. They were always there. But when you’re someone who doesn’t like to express themselves, for whatever reason, maybe because you don’t want to upset your family, or maybe because it’s something you just don’t talk about at home. I remember when I used to sit with them—not anymore, it’s different now. But back then.”
He added, “Anyway, whenever we used to sit together, we wouldn’t even make eye contact. Whether it was my sister and me, my father and me, or my mom, we didn’t make eye contact or talk. Because we all knew the pain we were going through. They didn’t want to ask me if I was okay, and I didn’t want to ask them if they were okay. Because deep down, we all knew that none of us were okay. But now, things are better. Over the past one and a half years, it’s been much, much more peaceful at home and in the mind.”
Sooraj Shares Emotional Message From Father Aditya Pancholi
Sooraj shares an emotional message he received from father Aditya Pancholi. He said, “Two days ago, I received a deeply personal message from my father that I’d like to share. It’s quite emotional. The message came in at 1:00 a.m. and simply said, ‘After so many years, I’m very happy for you. Sana, Mama, and I—all the very best. Har Har Mahadev.’ He’s a man of very few words, but this meant everything.”
