Bappi Lahiri demise, Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar

On Tuesday, one of the prolific music composers and singers Bappi Lahiri departed for his heavenly abode. Reportedly, the veteran singer passed away at Mumbai’s CritiCare Hospital due to Obstructive Sleep Apnea. As fans and celebs are mourning his demise, we went back to his Instagram profile and saw some Bappi Lahiri throwback pics with Amitabh Bachchan, the late Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar which are not only priceless but it will also make you miss the veteran star.

Did you know Bappi Lahiri and legendary singer Kishore Kumar are related? Well, Kishore Da was Lahiri’s maternal uncle. Bappi had said to TOI about Lata Mangeshkar, “I was 4 when in the Eden Garden locality of Kolkata where we lived, Lataji came home and blessed me. I still have a picture of me sitting in her lap. She sang many Bangla songs for my father (Aparesh Lahiri) who was a well-known composer in Kolkata. From then on she has supported me. She sang my first composition in a Bengali film Daadu. If she hadn’t sung for me, I’d have been swept away by the competition.”
