Only recently, actress Evelyn Sharma, who welcomed her first child recently shared a beyond beautiful picture as she breastfeeds her little one. However, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani actress faced severe backlash for posting pictures with her baby. Over the years, women have been sharing pictures while breastfeeding to destigmatize the phenomenon and showcase how it is not to sexualize the image. Many Bollywood actresses went on to break stereotypes by sharing breastfeeding pics. There were a few Bollywood actresses who became the torchbearers and shared breastfeeding pics to empower new moms.

Neha Dhupia

Dhupia, who has been vocal about breastfeeding had shared a picture with her baby son. She shared the picture during World Breastfeeding Week in 2021, and launched the campaign ‘Freedom To Feed’. The actress had shared the photo and had captioned it, “#freedomtofeed (sic).”

Lisa Haydon

The Queen actress has broken stereotypes with her Instagram post, quite a few times. She has shared pictures of her breastfeeding her son Zack and even her daughter.

Evelyn Sharma

Evelyn, who welcomed her first child last year had taken to her Instagram to share a picture while breastfeeding her baby girl, Ava. She later faced severe backlash for the breastfeeding pic too, but reacted with a savage reply. She told Hindustan Times, “Such images show vulnerability and strength at the same time. I find it beautiful. Breastfeeding is one of the most natural and healthy things to do. And it really is why women have breasts in the first place. So why be shy about it?”

Amrita Rao
