Anupam Kher as Dr Manmohan Singh

It’s raining biopics in Bollywood. After movies on the lives of Mary Kom, MS Dhoni, Neerja Bhanot, Milkha Singh, and Mahavir Phogat, here comes another biopic which is based on the life of none other than the former Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh. Senior actor Anupam Kher is all set to essay the role of Dr Manmohan Singh and the first look is out now. Mr Kher bears an uncanny resemblance to Manmohan Singh. He shared the picture on his social media page with the caption, “To reinvent yourself as an actor is to challenge yourself. Looking forward to portraying #DrManmohanSingh in #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister.:)”

The movie is based on Sanjay Baru’s book called ‘The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making and Unmaking of Manmohan Singh’, and screenplay of the same will be written by Hansal Mehta. Kher had spoken to a leading daily about the same, “Acting the role of anyone in contemporary history is extremely challenging, as comparisons are bound to be instant and inevitable. But as I have always revelled in challenges, right from my first film ‘Saaransh’, I look forward to the experience of portraying PM Manmohan Singh.”

Given the first look is so impressive, we are looking forward to more on the film, now. (Also Read: Anupam Kher to essay the role of ex-Prime Minister Manmohan Singh)
