British model turned actress Amy Jackson of the ‘Singh is Bliing’ fame has walked out of Arjun Kapoor starrer ‘Half Girlfriend’. This move by the beauty, who was to depict the role of Samantha Myers, from the Bill Gates Foundation in the film, sent shock waves among her fans who were waiting to see her in Chetan Bhagat love story.

As per the story, Samantha Myers aka Amy comes to India to fund schools in villages and one of them being the school run by Arjun’s onscreen mom Seema Biswas in the film.

Amy confided that, “I was really looking forward to doing ‘Half Girlfriend’. But I had to opt out of the film. I am not doing it anymore.” She explains it was just a special appearance, but a really lovely role. Ask her why she had to opt out and she reasons, “I have already given my dates to this British film which I start shooting from September. So I could not do ‘Half Girlfriend’.”

She further added that “I am certainly unhappy that I missed out on a role like this. I always wanted to work with Arjun. I think he is a fabulous actor and among all the actors from the new generation, I like him a lot. But I’m hoping I get to work with him in the near future.”

‘Half Girlfriend’ that is being directed by Mohit Suri has already completed its first schedule in Delhi and now the team is all set to fly to New York for the second schedule. This romantic drama that is based on Chetan Bhagat’s book of the same name will release on May 19, 2017.

On the other hand, Amy is awaiting the release of her upcoming film ‘Freaky Ali’ that has the talented Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the titular role. This Sohail Khan directorial will be releasing on 9 September 2016.
