Taimur, Randhir Kapoor

Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s little bundle of joy Taimur was born on December 20, 2016. Since that day, there have been quite a few pictures of the little baby online and there has been a lot of talk about who has he taken after in the looks department. (ALSO READ: It’s Confirmed! His pout and glowing face make many believe that he has taken after mommy Kareena, while his curious eyes make some believe he resembles his daddy Saif. But what does Saif have to say to this?

He spoke about it to SpotboyE and he said, “My mother (Sharmila Tagore) feels that Taimur looks like Dabooji (as Randhir is fondly called).” He further added, “No. We all feel that he looks like a Kapoor. But yeah, I think he has my eyes.” Well, what does Randhir Kapoor have to say to this.

In the past, Saif has also spoken up on controversy surrounding the name of the baby which was compared to a ruthless ruler named Timur. He said, “I have known a few people called Taimur while I was growing up and there was no drama involved in their names. It was called iron, it’s a strong and beautiful sounding name. Yes, I am aware that there is a Turkish ruler who is possibly a little violent but that was the whole violent. But I think that’s the whole point. If you have to be a conquering ruler, you have to be a little violent.”

He further added, “That was Timur and this is Taimur. It might sound similar because it has similar roots. Also, to judge the past by today’s lens is a little far out. A name doesn’t really mean anything. Asoka is a violent name then. There’s Alexander too.”

The baby is already a star on social media, thanks to his starry lineage.
