John Abraham's recovery process after a terrible injury

During the shooting of his forthcoming action flick ‘Force 2’, actor John Abraham had to follow a strict routine after recovery to slip into the character. John who has also been shooting for Rohit Dhawan’s multi-starrer project, ‘Dishoom’, sports a look which is inspired by wrestler turned actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson. He will be reprising the role of a tough cop in ‘Force 2’.

His trainer Vinod Channa says, “After the knee accident, he had to undergo three surgeries. All the hard work we had put in for the new looks lay waste. We had to start from scratch when he had fully recovered.”  He says that the 43-year-old actor had just three months to get back into the ‘Dishoom’ look.

“He was recovering from the surgeries and found even trying to walk very difficult, so I had to get him to work out slowly, we couldn’t afford to aggravate his injury. While he looked huge and muscular in the original, we’ve tried to make him look leaner in ‘Force 2’ for which we were prepping up when ‘Dishoom’ came along. With a little more focus on diet, exercise and the intensity of workout, we managed to acquire both. John is vegetarian and eats only egg and fish along with vegetable and fruits. Also, we experimented with different workout routines rather than sticking to one so that he didn’t get bored. If one day was weights, it would be cardio the next and so on,” Vinod signs off.

This year, John will be seen in ‘Hera Pheri 3’ which is directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Feroz Nadiadwala and also in ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’ which is directed by Neeraj Pandey.
