Sandalwood star Rishab Shetty put the Kannada film industry on the map with his film Kantara. The actor director has added a new feather to his cap.  Rishab Shetty has been honoured at the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival 2023.  He has bagged the most promising actor award at the award function.

Rishab managed to win hearts with his spectacular performance in Kantara. The movie won appriciation not only in India but overseas too.  

Rishab made the headlines earlier this week as he he along with KGF star Yash and a few other prominent Kannada stars met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 

Rishab Shetty on the box office success of Kantara

Earlier in an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the Kantara actor had opened up about facing struggles like having no work, selling mineral water, working as a driver and more to the massive success of his movie Kantara. He also revealed how the success of Kantara changed his ideology that nobody will cast him as an actor post 30.

He said, “Mineral water supply kiya tha. Aur tea powder becha tha. Solar ka marketing karta tha. Hotel tha mera, woh ek bada disaster tha. Uske baad construction karta tha, film industry mein mainstream aane se pehle, last work wahi tha (I supplied Mineral water. Sold tea powder. Did marketing for a solar company. I also had a hotel, it was a big disaster. After that, I was into construction, before enterting into the mainstream film industry, that was my last work).

Kantara is all about the human and nature conflict where Shiva played by Rishab defends his village and nature. It also revolves around the regional ritual dance form named Bhoota Kola. The highly acclaimed film crossed the Rs 500-crore mark in gross collections worldwide, making it only the second Kannada film ever to do so.

The Dadashab Phalke International Film Festival Award 2023 will reportedly take place on February 20 in Mumbai. The Kantara star will receive the award at Taj Land End Hotel.
