Malayalam Actor Shine Tom Chacko Arrested On Dr*g Charges By Kochi Police After Fleeing Raid

Malayalam film actor Shine Tom Chacko, who fled from a hotel in Kochi during a narcotics raid earlier this week, was arrested by Kochi police on Saturday following approximately 4 hours of interrogation related to a drug case. The police confirmed that he was charged under Sections 27 (consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance) and 29 (abetment and criminal conspiracy) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The police added that a medical examination and further proceedings will be carried out soon. The 41-year-old actor gained fame with the fantasy comedy film Ithihasa, which became the highest-grossing Malayalam film in 2014. On Saturday, he appeared before the Kochi City Police in response to a formal notice issued by the authorities.

Tom Shine Chacko Fled Police Raid

The situation escalated earlier this week on Wednesday when Chacko reportedly fled during a police raid related to an alleged drug use case. On Thursday, actress Vincy Aloshious complained to the Kerala Film Chamber of Commerce and the internal complaint committee of the Malayalam film industry against Chacko. She alleged that he misbehaved on the set of the film Suthravakyam while purportedly under the influence of alcohol.

In an Instagram video, Vincy shared her experience. She stated that she would no longer collaborate with individuals who misuse substances like alcohol or drugs. Earlier this month, Chacko was also named by an arrested female drug peddler. He claimed that she had supplied drugs to him and actor Sreenath Bhasi.
