Hours after social media was flooded with speculation that Trisha had unfollowed Vijay on Instagram and skipped wishing him on his 52nd birthday on Monday, she finally shared a heartfelt picture from the actor-politician’s midnight birthday celebrations.

In the photo, Vijay is seen dressed casually in a printed shirt, smiling as he looks at the bunch of birthday cakes placed in front of him. Standing beside him, Trisha gazes at him fondly, with both flashing bright smiles. The duo have remained at the centre of online chatter over the past few months, thanks to their frequent public appearances together. Trisha attended Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in May, while the two were also spotted together at producer Kalpathi S Aghoram’s family wedding earlier this year.

The proceedings stem from a petition filed by Vijay’s estranged wife, Sangeetha, in February, in which she accused the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister of having an extramarital affair. The couple had earlier skipped the initial hearing, following which the court directed them to appear.
