Kiku Sharda was involved in an intense argument on the set of The Great Indian Kapil Show with his co-actor Krushna Abhishek last month. Having worked closely with Kapil Sharma for years, it appears that Kiku has now decided to step away from the show.

On Thursday, popular paparazzi handle Viral Bhayani shared on Instagram that Kiku Sharda has quit Kapil Sharma’s Netflix show. It is reported that Kiku has signed on for a new reality series—Rise and Fall. It will soon stream on Amazon MX Player and will be hosted by Ashneer Grover. This new project is believed to be the reason behind his departure from The Great Indian Kapil Show.

However, Archana Puran Singh dismissed the rumours in no uncertain terms. Speaking to Indian Express, she said, “Absolutely not true.” She further confirmed that Kiku has already shot his parts for the season and will continue to feature in upcoming episodes. A close source also reassured fans that Kiku remains very much part of Kapil Sharma’s team.

While Kiku has not officially confirmed his exit, this development comes shortly after a publicised altercation on set with Krushna Abhishek. A video capturing their alleged fight surfaced on social media. The confrontation reportedly began with Kiku saying, “Timepass kar raha hu?” Krushna appeared upset and responded, “To phir thik hai aap karlo. Aap karlo, bhai koi problem nahi hai. Main jata hu yaha se.” Kiku then stated, “Baat yeh hai ke mujhe bulaya hai toh main apna khatam kar lona pehle.” Krushna replied, “I love you and respect you, I don’t want to raise my voice.” The video concluded with Kiku saying, “Raise voice ka baat nahi hai, aap isko galat tarike se leke jaa rahe hai.”
