It all began, with a dialogue from the show, which featured Amit Bhatt (who portrays the role of Babuji in the show), saying that the common language of Mumbai is Hindi, which is factually correct but prone to hurt local sentiments. The dialogue has not been received well by the show’s fans and the president of the cinema wing of MNS, Ameya Khopkar. And thus, he has demanded an apology from the makers of the show.

Soon, the producer of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, Asit Kumarr Modi took to his official Twitter handle and wrote a cryptic note stating that there is no doubt that Marathi is the main language of Mumbai. He also said that he is a Maharashtra born Gujarati and as an Indian, he respects all the languages. Check out his tweet post.
