Aditya Dhar has showered high praise on the man he considers the “soul” of Dhurandhar. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to him for carrying the film’s essence on his shoulders. Currently riding high on the blockbuster success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, aka Dhurandhar 2, which continues to break records at the box office, Aditya Dhar took a moment to highlight the contribution of Vikash Nowlakha, the film’s talented cinematographer.
Aditya Dhar Praises Dhurandhar Cinematographer Vikash Nowlakha
On Sunday, Aditya Dhar shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram, showcasing Vikash Nowlakha behind the camera, capturing some of the film’s most memorable shots. Alongside the images, he penned a touching message celebrating Vikash’s dedication and role in bringing his vision to life.
He wrote, “Here’s to Vikash Nowlakha, the eye, the instinct, and the soul behind Dhurandhar. He was the last Head of Department to come on board, just a few days before we began shooting. Knowing how selective he is, that timing felt like destiny quietly stepping in at the perfect moment. I still remember what he said after reading the script: ‘I’ve waited 30 years to do a film like this. I’ll give my life to it.’ And he truly meant every word.”
Aditya continued to praise Vikash’s unwavering commitment. He noted, “What followed was more than work — it was devotion. Through gruelling schedules, chaos that seemed unmanageable, and shooting two films in the time and budget of one, Vikash remained steady and relentless. Carrying the weight of the film quite literally on his shoulders, he pushed through the scorching heat of Amritsar and the freezing cold of Leh, never letting the vision falter.”
Aditya On Vikash’s Eye For Detail
He further described what makes Vikash exceptional: not just his endurance, but the “soul in his gaze,” his eye for detail, emotional intelligence behind the camera, and his ability to grasp not just the look but the feeling of each scene. “Every frame in Dhurandhar breathes because he allowed it to,” Aditya explained. “He didn’t just shoot moments; he gave them life. His contributions were never loud but always precise, always truthful, always elevating the film. Many shoot movies, but Vikash lived this one.”
Concluding his tribute, Aditya said, “In doing so, he has given Dhurandhar something that can’t be manufactured — a soul. I am immensely grateful, respectful, and affectionate for the artist he is, and for the human being he brought into this journey. This film bears his imprint forever. And I believe this is only the beginning — the stories we will tell together from here will go even further, shine brighter, and create something truly timeless.”
Dhurandhar Team REACTS
The film’s cast also expressed their admiration in the comments. Sara Arjun called Vikash “the best,” while Udaybir Sandhu praised his craft, writing, “Your craft, creativity, and vision elevate everything you touch, sir. It’s a privilege to witness your work and be captured on film by you. Keep shining and being the incredible human you are.” Naveen Kaushik also lauded Vikash’s calmness and dedication.
