Anurag Kashyap Revisits Ranveer Singh’s Method Acting In Lootera

Anurag Kashyap, amid the buzz of Dhurandhar 2’s success, reflected on Ranveer’s acting passion. The filmmaker recalled an incident from the shoot of Lootera. In a conversation with Miss Malini, Kashyap said, “We hear stories about Dhurandhar and how Ranveer and Arjun Rampal injured each other during shoots, which shows their dedication. But during Lootera, Ranveer went to great lengths to capture authenticity. In the climax, where his character is shot, he secretly clipped himself on the stomach to feel the pain. This led to him being taken to the hospital. Despite the discomfort, he did not inform anyone and continued working until he was unable to move.”

Kashyap, who co-produced Lootera and also penned its dialogues, pointed out that even though the film didn’t achieve the same commercial success as Dhurandhar, Ranveer’s sincerity towards his craft never wavered.

Anurag Kashyap will be seen acting in his recently released film Dacoit, alongside Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur. Kashyap has an exciting slate of projects lined up across genres. He is helming Bandar, a film starring Bobby Deol and Sanya Malhotra, expected to hit screens in May 2026. In addition, Kashyap is reportedly working on a Hindi adaptation of Kill Bill.
