A source close to the project told Pinkvilla that Vishesh Bhatt, who has been deeply involved with the Awarapan franchise, has carefully crafted the film’s music to capture the emotional essence of Shivam Pandit’s world. The source explained, “With Yeh Awarapan, Bhatt delivers a song that sits at the very soul of Shivam Pandit’s universe. And he delivers it in the voice of Arijit Singh.”

The insider further highlighted the longstanding relationship between Arijit Singh and Vishesh Films, stating, “The relationship between Arijit Singh and Vishesh Films is woven into the fabric of Hindi cinema’s last fifteen years. It was Vishesh Films that first placed faith in Arijit Singh, giving him Phir Mohabbat in Murder 2, a collaboration that introduced a generation to a voice it would carry with it for years.”

This collaboration also signifies another chapter in the enduring creative partnership between Arijit Singh and Vishesh Films. The banner was among the first to recognise Arijit’s talent, allowing him to sing Phir Mohabbat. This introduced his voice to a wider audience. They have worked together on projects like Muskurane from CityLights, the Khamoshiyan title track, Hamari Adhuri Kahani’s title track, and Pal from Jalebi.

Arijit Singh’s Retirement

On January 27, Arijit Singh announced his decision to step away from playback singing. He mentioned he would no longer accept new assignments. Posting the news on social media, he expressed gratitude to his supporters and reflected on his journey. He wrote, “Hello. Happy New Year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not going to take any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it quits. It was a wonderful journey (sic).”
