Bhooth Bangla marks the reunion of Bollywood’s legendary director-actor duo Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar after a hiatus of 14 years. Over the decades, they have created some of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and beloved comedy classics. These films continue to entertain audiences even today. With such a rich legacy, Bhooth Bangla has quickly become one of the most eagerly awaited films of 2026. Presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, the film has already stirred nostalgia among fans. As reported, Bhooth Bangla has been postponed to avoid any clash with Dhurandhar 2’s box office success.
Bhooth Bangla POSTPONED?
As reported by Variety India, “The producers of Bhooth Bangla understood the challenges of competing with Ranveer Singh’s film. It’s a smart business move. It benefits both the producers and the industry. Even ‘Toxic’ avoided clashing with the Aditya Dhar project. There should be no ego in such decisions. Ektaa’s mother, Shobha Kapoor, fully supports this approach.”
A trade source added, “The delay of Bhooth Bangla was purely to give the film some breathing space at the box office. The trailer, initially planned for release on March 30, has been cancelled for now, with new plans to unveil it in the first week of April.”
The new release date is April 17, as per the report. The horror-comedy also features Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Mithila Palkar, Asrani and Paresh Rawal.
