BMC Inspect  Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat After Complaints Over Rules Violation

On Friday, a team from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) visited Shah Rukh Khan’s house, Mannat, in Bandra, Mumbai. The bungalow is currently being renovated. The visit happened after a complaint claimed that the renovation might be breaking coastal regulation zone (CRZ) rules.

Illegal Construction Work At SRK’s Mannat?

A forest department official confirmed the inspection. He said the team visited the site because they received a complaint about the renovation permissions. A report will be made and submitted soon.

Reports say that the BMC’s H-West ward building and factory department, along with the building proposal department, were also part of the inspection. One BMC official said they only went along with the forest team because they were asked to and did not play any other role.
Another official present at the site said that the staff at Mannat told the team that they would soon submit all the required documents and permissions for the renovation work.

When Shah Rukh Khan’s manager was asked for a comment, she told ETimes, “There are no complaints. All work is going on as per the rules.” This inspection happened just one day after former IPS officer and lawyer Y P Singh made some serious claims. He said that Mannat used to be a heritage building called Villa Vienna. In 2005, a seven-story extension was built behind the original house.

At that time, the Urban Land Ceiling Act did not allow large apartments. So, Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan reportedly got permission for 12 small flats instead. Singh claims that after getting approval, they combined all the flats into one large, luxury home for their family. This has raised questions about whether proper rules were followed during the construction.
