Varun Dhawan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Border 2. In the movie, he portrays Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya, a brave Indian Army officer and Param Vir Chakra (PVC) awardee who fought in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. Ahead of the film’s release, a video has surfaced on social media showing Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya’s wife blessing Varun at a pre-release event, smiling and praising him.

In the clip posted by a paparazzi account on Instagram, Colonel Hoshiar Singh Dahiya’s wife is seen touching Varun’s head with a smile, saying, “Tumne bahot badhiya kiya hai. Bahot badhiya, shabbash! Film bahot achi chalegi” (“You’ve done a great job. Very good, bravo! The film will do really well”). Varun politely bent down and thanked her for the warm gesture.

Recently, a Reddit user shared a screenshot of a chat allegedly showing messages sent to influencers, urging them to criticise Varun Dhawan’s performance and expressions in the Border 2 song Ghar Kab Aaoge. Many viewers felt that Varun’s expressions in the song appeared unnecessary and overly loud.

About Border 2

Border 2 is directed by Anurag Singh. The film stars Varun Dhawan alongside Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. It is a sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border, directed by JP Dutta. The project is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.

A few days ago, the entire team released the song “Ghar Kab Aaoge” in Jaisalmer. The track has been recreated by Mithoon with additional lyrics by Manoj Muntashir. Besides Sonu Nigam, the song features vocals by Arijit Singh, Roop Kumar Rathod, Vishal Mishra, and Diljit Dosanjh. Based on the events surrounding the 1971 India–Pakistan war, the film is set to release in theatres on January 23.
