Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi will soon be seen depicting the role of a detective in an upcoming film ‘Father’s Day’. The movie that is being directed by Shantanu Baagchi is based on the life of Suryakant Bhande Patil, India’s top detective who solved 120 child kidnapping cases for free.

Confirming the news, the ‘Jannat’ star took to his Twitter handle and wrote, “Excited to announce my film ‘Father’s day’ based on the life of Suryakant Bhande Patil, India’s top detective who has solved 120 child kidnapping cases for free. Directed by Shantanu Baagchi, written by @writish. Produced by @emraanhfilms & @mataramfilms. @priyagupta999.”

The movie will be co-produced by Emraan Hashmi.

Meanwhile, Emraan will also be seen with Rishi Kapoor in Jeethu Joseph’s debut Bollywood movie, and with newbie Shreya Dhanwanthary in ‘Cheat India‘. The movie is being jointly produced by actor Emraan Hashmi, Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Kasbekar and Tanuj Garg’s Ellipsis Entertainment. The tweet from the official Twitter account of Ellipsis Entertainment read: “We begin our journey of “cheating” today! ‘Cheat India’. Shoot begins. Releasing 25.01.2019.”

‘Cheat India’, is based on education scams in India. It will release on January 25, 2019. Emraan will also be seen essaying the role of Kabir Anand a spy in the upcoming Netflix series ‘The Bard of Blood’ that is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
