Janhvi reveals how she saw her late mother Sridevi in a shot of her debut film ‘Dhadak’
Late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor‘s daughter Janhvi Kapoor is all set to mark her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar‘s film ‘Dhadak’. Janhvi was busy with the shoot of her debut film when she had lost her mother, legendary actress Sridevi in an unfortunate accident in Dubai. The 21-year-old handled the situation bravely and resumed shooting within a few days of her mother’s demise.
Janhvi is currently busy promoting her upcoming release on all major platforms and during an interview, she revealed that while looking at a montage from the film, for a split second, she thought it was her late mother Sridevi and not her, onscreen.
In an interview with IANS, Janhvi shared the incident from the sets of ‘Dhadak’ and said, “I am my mumma’s daughter, so I look like her, but I know I am different. There was that one montage shot where I am drinking milk in a scene. For a fraction of second, I thought that was mumma… I was like ‘Oh God, wasn’t it her? Actually, in that shot, I saw my side profile.”
What led her to feel that? Janhvi explained, “I have one such image of Mumma where she used to have juice early morning. So the moment I woke up and looked out for her around me, I would see her drinking juice from a side. So yes, that was one moment.”
We cannot even imagine how this brave girl is coping over her mother’s demise and yet being strong enough to promote her film.
‘Dhadak’ is a remake of the Marathi blockbuster ‘Sairaat ‘and also stars Shahid Kapoor‘s talented brother Ishaan Khatter as the male lead. The movie is directed by ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniyaa’ fame Shashank Khaitan and is produced under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
‘Dhadak’ is all set to hit the silver screens on July 20, 2018.

After 'Veere Di Wedding', Sumeet Vyas pens his first feature film
Sumeet Vyas, who was last seen in the ultimate all-girls film ‘Veere Di Wedding’ has been taking it easy since his hit film made waves in the industry. The ‘Permanent Roommates‘ actor, who is currently shooting for Voot’s ‘It’s Not That Simple’ Season 2 has been keeping up with something else as well.
Apart from being a gifted actor, Sumeet is also a gifted writer. Sumeet is currently penning his first ever feature film after having worked on a show and a digital feature film in the past. The talented writer has written for web series so far, having even co-written the Netflix original, ‘Love Per Square Foot’ with Anand Tiwari.
The actor, who is also in the midst of writing season 2 of TVF’s popular series, ‘Tripling’, which he also stars in, with Akarsh Khurana, has wanted to venture in feature film writing for quite some time now. Having written and directed several digital pieces, the ‘Ribbon’ actor will finally be writing something for the big screen. We hear the actor is penning a unique dramedy which he hopes to see in the making in 2019 after finishing his current work commitments.
“I have been toying with a couple of ideas for a while now and finally have zeroed down one that I’m most kicked about. I’ll start working on it this year and hopefully, by next year it’ll make sense. I’m a little unforgiving, as far as my scripts are concerned, which is why it takes longer than usual, but it’ll be a credible script to say the least. It’s a story about jealousy between a father and a son, a humorous take on how competitiveness in a family can screw things up. To be very honest, I haven’t thought of the cast yet. The story is in my head right now. It needs to come on paper.” he said.
Given Sumeet’s forte in writing, we are pretty sure it’s going to be one hell of a script!
