The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has sent a letter to actor Kartik Aaryan, expressing concern about his name being linked to an event allegedly organised by people from Pakistan. According to FWICE, this goes against their rules and those of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, which advises Indian artists not to take part in events involving Pakistani organisers due to tense relations between the two countries.
Kartik Aaryan Team Clarifies To FWICE Notice
FWICE reminded everyone in the film industry to avoid any work or promotions that could be seen as supporting or connecting with Pakistan-based individuals or events. The letter warned Aaryan and repeated their earlier request for Indian artists to stay away from such associations.
The issue started when promotional material for an international event used Kartik Aaryan’s name and photo, suggesting he would be attending.
In response, his team issued a statement saying he had no connection with the event. They added that he never agreed to take part and had asked the organisers to remove all mentions of him. His team stated, “Kartik Aaryan is not associated with this event in any capacity. He has never made an official announcement about participating in this event. We have contacted the organisers and requested to remove all promotional materials featuring his name and image.”
FWICE accepted the clarification but urged organisers not to use Indian celebrities’ names without permission. Industry groups are now keeping a close watch to avoid such issues in the future.
