Met Gala 2025: The King Has Made His Debut! Shah Rukh Khan Strikes Signature Pose On The Iconic Stairs

The King of Bollywood, the King of Romance, Shah Rukh Khan has made his grand Met Gala debut. The 2025 Met Gala kick started earlier today and saw several global stars strut the iconic stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan in their interpretation of this year’s theme – Tailored for You. The theme coincides with the institute’s 2025 exhibition titled, Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.

King Khan made his grand debut dressed in an all black ensemble and stole hearts, especially when he open his arms wide while posing for the photographers on the iconic stairs. Scroll below to check out his look.

Shah Rukh Khan Makes Met Gala Debut

Shah Rukh Khan looked dapper as he stole the limelight in an all-black ensemble and jewels from Sabyasachi. The ‘King’ actor’s ensemble consist of a floor-length trench coat layered over an unbuttoned black shirt with a pair of matching black trousers by celebrated Indian designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee. While the ensemble doesn’t stand out, SRK made sure all eyes were on his thanks to his aura and the layers-on-layers of jewels adorning his neck.

The actor’s bling for the night included a huge, diamond-studded ‘K’ pendant, a diamond-studded star pendant chain, several extravagant rings and a couple of minimal- but still eye-catching chockers. SRK’s look even more regal thanks to the ornate tiger-topped walking stick he accessorized the look with.

About This Year’s Gala

The theme for this year’s gala – Tailored for You, coincides with the The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute’s 2025 exhibition – Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. This exhibit will highlight the rich history and cultural significance of Black Dandyism – with a focus on tailoring and the contributions of Black designers.

The 2025 Met Gala will see several Indian celebrities in attendance including actress and mother-to-be Kiara Advani, the King of Romance Shah Rukh Khan and global singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh. The biggest fashion night of the year will also see Met regulars Isha Ambani and Natasha Poonawalla in attendance alongside Indian designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi and more.
