The film, which is reportedly inspired by a real-life incident outside Jama Masjid involving police deployment and a sudden outbreak of violence, is scheduled to release on October 1, 2027. However, controversy arose when the teaser for ‘Chauhaan’ was released on June 25. It coincided with the birth anniversary of Ajay Devgn’s father, Veeru Devgn. The teaser featured the dialogue, “Pathaanon ko keh do Chauhaan aa raha hai,” which led to protests. Members of the Chauhan community and the Kshatriya Parishad objected to certain content, prompting the filmmakers to replace Zeeshan Ayyub’s voice with another artist within days.

In a statement on X, Zeeshan clarified, “I have nothing to do with the film.” He revealed that he was asked “to dub a line without any reference” a few months ago. He did so in good faith, knowing the filmmakers personally. Once he saw the context in which his voice was used, he requested that the filmmakers remove his voice. The actor reaffirmed that he has no official association with the project.
About ‘Chauhaan’
Directed by Neeraj Yadav and produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L. Rai, and Himanshu Sharma under Jio Studios and Colour Yellow, the film is all set to release in theatres on October 1, 2027. While it is rumoured to be loosely inspired by a real incident at Jama Masjid, the makers have not officially confirmed the story’s basis.
