Actor Mrunal Thakur has garnered a massive fan base on social media, in the past few years. She is currently winning hearts with her performance in the recently released movie, Jersey. While the actress is receiving praise for her performance and acting skills, not long ago, she was body-shamed on her physique. Thakur faced severe backlash when she posted a video of her intense workout regime. The Jersey actress has now opened up about being called the Indian Kardashian for her curvy physique during her visit to the US.

Mrunal Thakur made sure she gave a befitting reply to the trolls. The Jersey actress revealed that during her US visit, many people told her how she should appreciate the physique she has. She mentioned someone calling her the Indian Kardashian and shared she was ‘happy’. Mrunal further shared that trolls do not affect her.

Speaking with Times Now, the Jersey actress said, “When I was in the US, people said a lot of women pay to get that body. When someone called me the Indian Kardashian, I was so happy that yes we need to celebrate. And now I have the confidence to post a picture and I just want to make sure that these trolls do not affect me.

Mrunal further opened up about how she was body-shamed for her curves. She explained, “If I cut down — I start losing weight from my face, then my upper body and then it would reach my lower body – I will still have that shape. So rather than people calling me matka and me feeling bad, I take a lot of pride in it.”

Meanwhile, Thakur plays Vidya Talwar in the Gowtam Tinnamuri directorial. The movie also features Shahid Kapoor, Sanjay Kapur in key roles.

Bollywood Bubble gave the movie Jersey four stars in its review. Talking about Thakur, an excerpt from the review reads: “Mrunal Thakur is brilliant as Vidya.
