Ramayana Makers Hosts FIRST Test Screening In LA

Nitesh Tiwari’s highly anticipated film Ramayana is creating a buzz among fans. While everyone eagerly awaits Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Lord Ram in theatres, a recent screening in Los Angeles provided a glimpse of Tiwari’s vision on screen. The filmmaker is dividing Ramayana into two parts: the first instalment is set for a worldwide release on Diwali 2026, with the second part scheduled for Diwali 2027.

According to reports by The Week, the first-ever screening of Ramayana was held at the Cinemark Playa Vista theatre in Los Angeles for a select audience. Attendees, ranging from 18 to 60 years old, watched the initial cut and shared positive feedback about the film. The audience praised the film’s rooted storytelling and the grandeur of its visual effects, describing it as a “monstrous” visual spectacle on an enormous scale. However, it’s important to note that only the first cut was shown, making this a test screening by the filmmakers.

Latest Updates On Ramayana

Sources indicate that the editing process for the first part has been completed. In October 2025, Pinkvilla reported that the team is now focusing on VFX. The makers are planning to dedicate around 300 days to perfecting the visual effects. Producer Namit Malhotra and his team aim to lock the final cut of Ramayana: Part One by summer 2026, targeting a Diwali release.

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing the role of Ram, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying the role of Sita. KGF star Yash will now be seen as Ravana in this movie. Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Laxman, respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodri and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan are also a part of this project.


Nitesh Tiwari is releasing Ramayana in two parts. The first part is scheduled for release worldwide on Diwali 2026, followed by the second instalment on Diwali 2027.
