It’s been about a decade since Ranbir Kapoor last did a romcom. After Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, the actor is marking his return to the genre with Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar. During this while, the actor has had many milestones in his life. He got married to Alia Bhatt and even became a father to daughter Raha.

Ranbir Kapoor on the effect of marriage and fatherhood on his choices

During a recent interview, Ranbir was asked if fatherhood and marriage have affected his film choices in any way. The actor answered in the negative. He said, I don’t think I do any such work which is questionable that after wedding I have to change it. I am quite responsible with the kind of films I do and the characters I take. I don’t want to stand for something that will influence the society in a bad way. That has always been my aim. So there hasn’t been any change in it.”

The actor also divulged which film of his he wants to show daughter Raha first. He shared, “I would probably say Barfi or Jagga Jasoos. I’ll start with them as they are more child-friendly films. I’ll start with Jagga Jasoos as I think Barfi is more emotional.”

He also recalled his childhood days and watching mother Neetu Kapoor’s films. He added that there is one film of hers too that he wants to show Raha. He said, “I remember that when we were children, me and my sister used to watch our mother’s film Do Kaliyan a lot. She was an 8-year-old actor at the time and played a double role in the film. It was like a remake of Parent Trap. So, I’ll definitely show her that film also.”

Ranbir has truly stepped up as a loving and doting husband and father in the last year. He has been winning hearts of the audiences off screen. On screen too, he has left the audience quite excited to see him in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film releases on March 8, 2023.
