There’s no doubt that Geetu Mohandas’ upcoming gangster film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups – with Yash in the lead, is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. While fans are eagerly waiting for the actioner to hit screens, it has been delayed multiple times. As fans wait for the makers to announce a new (and hopefully final) release date, reports surfaced that Kiara Advani had asked the filmmakers to tone down a romantic scene she had shot with Yash.

For the unversed, a Gulte report surfaced yesterday claiming that after watching the output, Kiara Advani asked Yash and Geetu Mohandas to trim certain intimate scenes of hers in Toxic. The report claimed that Kiara had shot a ‘bold romantic sequence’ with Yash after being reassured that they would be within her comfort zone. However, industry buzz claimed she changed her mind after watching the scene.
They also reported that industry insiders stated that Kiara has asked Yash and Geetu to either shorten the scene or tone it down in the final cut. The actress has now taken to her Instagram stories and reacted to the news. Sharing the news – titled ‘Kiara Advani requests makers to tone down bold scenes with Yash in Toxic,’ the actress wrote, “Absolute nonsense!”

A Kannada-English film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is directed by Geetu Mohandas and produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash under their banners, KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations. The actioner stars Yash in a dual role as Raaya and Ticket. It also features Kiara as Nadia, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
Announced in December 2023, the film was originally scheduled to release on April 10, 2025, but then got postponed to 2026. It was then scheduled to release on March 19, but was postponed amid the ongoing Iran-Israel-US conflict and to avoiding a box office clash with Dhurandhar 2. The film then locked June 4, 2026, before announcing a postponement due to alignments for a better global distribution.
