Ranveer Singh is filled with ‘gratitude and gladness’ as fans ‘appreciated’ 83 trailer, pens a heartfelt thank you note

Actor Ranveer Singh who channels legendary cricketer and former Indian skipper Kapil Dev in his biopic 83 has bowled everyone over which his finesse act. Fans can’t stop marvelling over his performance as they thought Ranveer is living the character. In fact, 83 trailer that was released yesterday, amassed 50 million views in just 24 hours. Seeing utmost love and admiration from the fans, Ranveer is now filled with gratitude and gladness. He took to his Instagram account and penned a long note, venting his heart out.

The Padmaavat actor mentioned that this is not just a movie but it’s a glorious tribute to that moment in Indian history that changed it all. Singh also mentioned it to be his honour to be playing this role and telling this iconic story on the celluloid. Ranveer’s note reads, “Thank You to movie fans all over the country and beyond, our film fraternity, the press… people from all walks of life and generations have appreciated the movie’s trailer, and we are filled with gratitude and gladness.

He continues, “This is not just a movie – it’s a glorious tribute to that moment in Indian history that changed it all! It’s about the great achievement of the Indian Cricket Team of 1983- ‘Kapil’s Devils’! These men are legends, and it’s an honour to be a part of the cinematic telling of their iconic story on the big screen! Meanwhile, besides Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jatin Sarna, Saqib Saleem, Dhairya Karwa, Jiiva, Harrdy Sandhu, Ammy Virk, Sahil Khattar, Chirag Patil, Adinath Kothare, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya and R Badree along with Pankaj Tripathi plays PR Man Singh, the team’s manager, play a key role. Also, Deepika Padukone plays his onscreen wife, Romi Bhatia.
