RIP Dharmendra Ji: Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Smriti Irani And Other Celebs Pay Emotional Tribute

Legendary actor Dharmendra passed away on Monday, leaving the entire Hindi film industry heartbroken. The veteran star was known for his charm, warmth, and unforgettable performances that entertained audiences for decades. His funeral took place in Mumbai, where several Bollywood celebrities came to pay their last respects. Among them was his close friend and frequent co-star Amitabh Bachchan, who later shared an emotional message remembering their bond.

Celebs Pay Tribute To Dharmendra

Actor Alia Bhatt also paid tribute to Dharmendra, recalling their time together while filming Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. She shared a picture from the set on social media and wrote a heartfelt note.

“A legend who lit up every frame and every heart. You will be missed, Dharam ji,” she wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan Remembers Dharmendra

On his personal blog, Bachchan wrote an emotional tribute, describing Dharmendra as “a valiant Giant” whose absence has created an irreplaceable void. “Another valiant Giant has left us left the arena leaving behind a silence with an unbearable sound,” he wrote.

Recalling the qualities that made Dharmendra beloved both on and off-screen, Bachchan added, “Dharam ji the epitome of greatness, ever linked not only for his renowned physical presence, but for the largeness of his heart and its most endearing simplicity.”

He reflected on how Dharmendra remained grounded despite decades of fame. “He brought with him the earthiness of the village in Punjab he came from, and remained true to its temperament, unsoiled throughout his glorious career, in a fraternity that witnessed changes every decade. The fraternity underwent changes not him.”

Bachchan also remembered Dharmendra’s warmth and generosity. “His smile, his charm and his warmth, extending to all that came in his vicinity a rarity in the profession,” he added.

Smriti Irani Recalls Dharmendra

Smriti Irani, who is currently seen in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 as Tulsi, posted a throwback picture of Dharmendra from his younger days. She wrote an emotional note in which she mentioned how Dharmendra helped her during her electoral campaign in Delhi.

Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at 89. Karan Johar, who directed Dharmendra in the 2023 family drama, shared a deeply personal message remembering the star’s charisma and kindness. “It is the end of an era. A massive megastar, the embodiment of a hero in mainstream cinema (sic),” he wrote. “He will always be a bonafide legend of Indian cinema, forever etched in its history (sic),” he added.

Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra’s co-star from the same film, along with several members of the industry, attended his final rites at Mumbai’s Pawan Hans Crematorium to pay their last respects.

Fans, colleagues, and the entire film fraternity continue to remember Dharmendra not only as a superstar but as a kind and humble human being. His legacy will forever remain unmatched.
