Suniel Shetty is an actor, film producer, entrepreneur and television personality who is predominantly active in Hindi films. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has acted in over 100 films. During the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Kesari Veer, Suniel Shetty subtly compares the success of Bollywood and South films, saying how we are not aware of our culture.

When asked about why we are making films like Kesari Veer now, Suniel Shetty said, “History ko hi takleef thi. Humaare schools aur colleges mein bhi Aurangazeb, Akbar, Birbal ke baare mein padhaya gaya hai but yeh nahi. Humaare heroes ke baare main bataaya nahi gaya tha. Toh I feel abhi waqt hai, baatanake unn kaahaniyo ke baare mein. The audience has changed. Abhi kaafi mediums hai jiske through yeh kaahaniya unke paas pahunchaai jaa sakti hai. Toh, I think yeh bahut important hai, hum woh bhul chuke hai jo audience dekhna chahte thi. Hum bhul chuke hai ki audience is responsible for the success and failure of a film at the box office.”

He said, “Hum financial table pe hoti hai tabh usko ek successful film maante hai. I think it’s important to go back to the drawing table and take back such stories which should be narrated. There are 28 states and 9 union territories in this country, har state ki ek story hai. Jaise Kanubhai wanted to tell this story, I would want to say something about Karnataka. Waise hi actors, directors, and producers aayenge toh aise filmain banegi. Toh yeh jo comparison hai ki humaari films inke comparison mein work nahi karti woh darr baith gaya hai. Woh nikalna bahut necessary hai.”
